Strengthening Social Security
At a time when nine out of 10 seniors rely on Social Security to make ends meet, we must strengthen and expand Social Security, not cut it. Social Security is among the most successful government programs in our nation’s history: It nearly eradicated destitute poverty in old age, made a dignified retirement possible for millions of Americans, and helped build the great American middle class.
I am a cosponsor of the Social Security 2100 Act which would fully fund Social Security to 2100 and beyond. In Congress, I stand up for our seniors and fight every attempt to privatize or cut Social Security.
